Hexfit helps realize a new master's project in kinesiology

Hexfit will collaborate on a master's project in kinesiology, which consists of drawing up the physical, functional and psychological portrait of women aged between 45 and 64 years old and undergoing hip osteoarthritis. Through this project, several determinants will be measured, namely:

  • Socio-demographic data (socio-economic status, level of education);
  • Physical and functional characteristics (weight, height, BMI, muscle strength, cardiovascular endurance, balance, intensity of pain, level of disability);
  • Psychological characteristics (self-esteem, quality of sleep, quality of life, anxiety, depression). Thanks to Hexfit, all the clinical questionnaires will be registered in the virtual platform and the participants will be able to complete them online from home. In addition, the data collected by the various tests will be integrated into the Hexfit's database in order to facilitate the entry of this data and the anonymization of the participants.

The project researchers are:

  • Priscilla Beaupré, M.Sc. (c), Master's student in clinical and biomedical sciences, kinesiology component (UQAC)
  • Tommy Chevrette, Ph.D., Professor of Kinesiology (UQAC), Research Director
  • Rubens A. DaSilva, Ph.D., Professor of Physical Therapy (UQAC), Research Co-Director
